Veronica D. Bolton emigrated to the United States in 1980 from Saint Catherine, Jamaica with her husband and children in pursuit of greater opportunities for both her and her children. Taught her children the value of working hard by example and since she did not have a driver's license rode the bus to and from her job at the Phoenix Insurance Company in downtown Hartford everyday, rain or shine, fall and winter.

Determined to pursue her passion Veronica enrolled into Central Connecticut State University's Elementary Education Program where she completed the requisite requirements and in 1989 earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. The "Blue Devil" didn't stop there, earning her Masters in Elementary School Counseling in 2005.

After she earned her Bachelor's Degree Veronica started working in the Hartford Public School system as a first grade teacher at the Annie Fisher Elementary School located on Plainfield Street in Hartford, CT. Veronica worked faithfully, diligently and with singular focus to help close the achievement gap and approached her duty to shape and mold the minds of her students by creating a structured classroom environment where excellence was the standard and every child reminded of their innate brilliance.
